What Will Happen in a Session?
It can be difficult it is to pick up the phone or write an email to make an appointment to see a therapist. It involves trusting someone you have not met with your private thoughts and feelings, and often at a time when you are feeling particularly vulnerable or under pressure. But please remember that therapy is a co-operative situation, where we work together on the material which you feel ready to bring.
In the first session, we will talk about why you have come and we will try to establish together whether this is the best option for you. If you decide not to continue, I may be able to recommend other organisations which you might find helpful. If we do decide to work together, then in future sessions you will find that you do most of the talking.
